Rhett's Birthday!

Well looks like Rhett is turning 25 again! We had a nice birthday at home. We cooked him dinner, showered him with love and presents and made him "hot lava" cakes for his celebration. It was a great day and we just him to know how much we love him and think he is the best husband, dad, optometrist on the planet!

End of Year Events

Any parent worth a lick knows that in May the camera and video camera get a serious workout. We finished school on May 21st and had end of year honor roll assemblies. Each teacher gets to pick two students from their class to receive the principal's award ( an award that exemplifies the child's behavior, academics and attitude ) and both Chase and Tally received them from their teachers. I was so proud of them for being good students but more importantly good kids. I also have pictures on here from Tally's dance showcase. This was her first year in ballet and she loved it. She looked so poised and elegant on stage that I started to cry because I could see the beautiful woman she is rapidly going to become. It has been a great month to be my kids mom!

Preschool Graduation

Ah, preschool graduation. As one friend politely told me, " the celebration of mediocrity". I do think preschool graduation serves no real purpose other than to see your adorable child wear a cap and gown about 17 years early and sing some cute songs. I think the kids are adorable!! Cade worked really hard on his songs and was proud as punch to walk up and get his little diploma. I really cannot believe he will be starting kindergarten. I hope and pray he is ready. He always surprises me so he will probably be some supergenius and love it to pieces. We had fun celebrating this special event with Cade.

Mother's Day!

I love Mother's Day mostly because it reminds me that I am blessed enough to feel loved and appreciated throughout the year and just not on one day. I occasionally have to remind the kids that I am their mom and not their maid but really no complaints. I have great kids who surprise me all the time with their love, kindness, silliness, intelligence, athletic skills, talents, etc. I am grateful to be spoiled on such a great day.

Chase turns 10!!

On April 24th Chase turned 10! I really can't believe that a whole decade has come and gone. It has gone way too quickly. I'll never forget the day he was born and looking at all of his blonde hair. It covered his ears and covered his neck. Everytime the nurses brought him back to me from the nursery his hair was always slicked and combed. I think they liked it. I'll never forget his perfect little lips and the way his tiny hands and feet looked. I am amazed today and I was back then with how amazing children are. I love you Chase. Thanks for ten years of happy memories that fill my heart with joy.

Chase celebrated this year with a couple of friends at the driving range, eating pizza and Indiana Jones cake, and playing his new Star Wars Wii game. He is easily pleased. He had fun and so did we.

Hoppy Easter!

So I'm not the most current blogger you know but I will eventually post events on here. We had a great Easter. My parents were here from CA and we just enjoyed the special day. The kids loved decorating eggs, hunting for their baskets and doing the outside Easter egg hunt. Luckily it wasn't too hot yet so the chocolate didn't melt. Some years it hasn't been too pretty to open up the stuffed eggs. The kids were gracious enough to let me dress them up and I think they look adorable. It was a nice family day.
