Tally Gets Baptized

On Saturday June 13th Tally got baptized by her father. It was a special day for her and our family. My parents, Rhett's parents and Tyler and Shelly and their kids were here. We also had special friends (the kind that feel like family) come. It was a simple program where the grandparents shared their testimonies. She was confirmed right afterwards. We came back here and had a nice dinner.

We are so proud of Tally for choosing to get baptized and become a member of the church. We know she will continue to make good choices in the future. I was touched by her goodness and desire to do what is right. It was a wonderful day.

Tally's 8th Birthday!

Can it be that my baby girl is 8? I can't believe how quickly she is growing up. She is a beautiful girl that brightens our home with her smile, giggle, crafts, sweetness, thoughtfulness and willing attitude. I can't imagine our home without her. The week after her birthday we got a taste of her absence and I missed her around so much. Rhett's parents take each grandchild for 5 days when they turn 8. Tally went to Disneyland and California Adventure. She had so much fun!! She is a crazy roller coaster fanatic (she definitely got that from her dad). She had a blast but we sure missed her (me especially).

Tally had a great birthday. She had a sleepover with a couple of girls. It was a "p" party. Everything started with "p" - pedicures, pizza, pajamas, purple, etc. It was fun. She and her friends stayed up until 12:30. Oh the joys of a slumber party. We love Tally so much.

The Anything Goes Pinewood Derby

Our ward held a pinewood derby activity where there were no rules except that the car had to fit on the track and it could not be motorized. Some of the men in the ward took the lack of rules to the limit. One guy made his car entirely from lead!! It won, of course, because it was a zillion times heavier than everyone else's.

The kids had a blast making it. My brother-in-law, Matt was visiting from Texas and he helped the kids get the car made and painted. He is very handy so the car turned out much nicer than if we had attempted to make a car. The kids designed it to be the "bumble bee". Our car made it a couple of rounds and then was smoked by the heavy cars. It was fun for the family and to have the cousins here for the week.
